Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Yuri Dzitstsoity has been refused the registration as a candidate for President of the Republic. This has been reported to IA "Res" by the CEC secretary Irina Gassieva. She noted that this decision was made on the basis of detection of numerous violations in the subscription lists, submitted to the CEC by the action group nominating Yuri Dzitstsoity as the candidate for president of South Ossetia. "Subscription lists were filled in incorrectly, and did not meet the requirements of the election law," - said Gassieva.

Gassieva has also added that at today's session the Central Election Committee has considered the statement of the presidential aspirant, a former Chairman of the State Committee of Information, Communications and Mass Media of South Ossetia Georgy Kabisov about his refusal to run for president. "The CEC has taken into consideration this document," - she has underlined. It should be reminded that February 17 the Parliament of South Ossetia at the request of the Central Election Committee adopted a special resolution, which contains clear explanation of the Constitutional Law "On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the right of the citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia to participate in the referendum," in the part concerning the rules of the order of collection signatures. Dzitstsoity himself has not agreed with the today's decision of the Central Election Committee, because, in his opinion, "the grounds for refusal the registration a presidential candidate can only be significant violations in collecting the signatures, and there were not admitted such violations". Meanwhile, for today 19 presidential aspirants are participating in the presidential race." Tomorrow, February 19 at 18:00 CEC will complete accepting subscription lists from the action groups. Currently, the CEC is checking the subscription lists of the action groups nominating former KGB Chairman of South Ossetia, Leonid Tibilov, a former Chairman of the Committee on Transport Maurice Sanakoev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to RF Dmitry Medoev and chief bailiff of the Ministry of Justice Sergei Bitiev as candidates for the presidency" - clarified the CEC secretary Irina Gassieva. It should be noted that February, 10 - the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Roin Kozaev was dropped out of the presidential race. He did not pass an exam in knowing the official languages; the CEC also stated a fact of significant percentage of defects in the subscription lists. The CEC will publish the final list of the registered candidates eligible to participate in the presidential elections, on February 29.
Re-election of the president of South Ossetia, according to the decision of Parliament, will be held on March 25. The results of the last November, 27 2011 elections were recognized by the Supreme Court of South Ossetia as invalid because of the committed violations.
