The CEC of South Ossetia has registered the second candidate for president of South Ossetia – the Human Rights Ombudsman under the President of South Ossetia David Sanakoev. As reported to IA "Res" by the CEC secretary Irina Gassieva, "today the CEC meeting has been held in Tskhinval, where the documents of the presidential aspirants were considered. So the CEC decided to register David Sanakoev as the second candidate for the presidency of the Republic."
Following the results of verification of the documents, the CEC refused the registration of the following presidential aspirants: MP of the IVth convocation Sergei Zasseev, Chairman of the Union of Afghan Veterans in South Ossetia, Murat Guchmazov, MP of the IId and the IVth convocations Kelekhsaev Vladimir, a former chief of the Dzausky District Administration of South Ossetia Ruslan Bagaev, entrepreneurs Anatoly Dzhioev and Oleg Kozaev, Ex-Chairman of the Committee of Transportation Maurice Sanakoev, Chairman of the Judo Federation Inal Dzukaev and former head of the Dzausky district Administration Pavel Kumaritov.
"Also at the meeting has been considered an application submitted to the CEC today by the former presidential representative in the RSO Parliament, Tarzan Kokoity. He has announced that he was out of the presidential race. CEC decided to acknowledge his application, "- Gassieva has underlined.
It should be reminded, that earlier the Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has registered ex-Chairman of the KGB of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, as a candidate for the presidency. The CEC will publish the final list of registered candidates eligible to participate in presidential elections, on February 29. Re-election of the President of South Ossetia is scheduled for March 25. The results of the elections, held November, 27, 2011, were recognized invalid by the Supreme Court of South Ossetia, because of the committed violations.
