Special attention at the meeting with the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions was focused on placing and strengthening the Georgian posts along the border with South Ossetia.
This has been declared by Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev at the briefing in Tskhinval.
"This fact has caused our anxiety, taken into account the previous years, when the Georgian side in the days of our holidays or during the important events in Georgia, was undertaking various provocations," - said the envoy.
He stressed that the South Ossetian President had asked the co-chairs to bring position of the South Ossetian leadership to Georgia - "that in the event of aggravation of the situation, the whole responsibility will fall on the government of Georgia."
Dzhioev has added, that during the meeting were also discussed the statements of the Georgian authorities as if President Leonid Tibilov had ordered the demolition of the Georgian villages to the north of Tskhinval.
"We have stated that no any Georgian villages were located to the north of the capital. Those were the villages with the mixed residents. The Ossetian population had been expelled from those villages even in 1989-1992, and the other houses were destroyed during the fighting in 2008, "- said the envoy.
According to him, to date the government of the Republic received hundreds of complaints from the residents of these villages, which at various times had had to leave their homes.
"People want to return to their homes. And we are now building the housing for these people to the north of Tskhinval, "- added Dzhioev.
He has also said that during the conversation with the co-chairs was also discussed the problem of the villagers from Zardiantkari.
"This problem, along with the convicted and the missing citizens of South Ossetia, will be discussed at the next meeting of MPRI September 24" - said the envoy.
In turn, the Co-Chairs of the Geneva Discussions have expressed will to follow their principle - to provide security for all the inhabitants of the conflict region. A head of the delegation Philippe Lefort said that the main task of the co-chairs was to prevent violence and find out the needs of the population affected by the conflict.
"We are in a phase of the conflict transformation. Our mandate has clearly stated that the most important areas of our work are- strengthening security after the military conflict, the issues of refugees and internally displaced persons and other humanitarian issues. We intend to continue working in this direction ", - assured Mr. Lefort.
