Trading houses will be opened in South Ossetia and Syria

Deputy Chairman of the Government - Minister of Economic Development of South Ossetia Gennady Bekoev and Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of the SAR Samer Al Khalil signed an agreement on opening trading houses in the Republic of South Ossetia and the Syrian Arab Republic, the press service of the Government of South Ossetia reported.

The signing of the document took place today as part of the official visit of the South Ossetian delegation to Damascus.

The agreement provides for the opening of trade pavilions in the territory of the two republics, in which Syrian and South Ossetian goods will be positioned. Shopping centers will be used for exhibitions and presentations.

“We are working on the practical implementation of the agreements signed by the presidents of South Ossetia and Syria Anatoly Bibilov and Bashar Assad. Relations between our countries are actively developing, and relations are being established in all areas of state activity. There is a mutual desire to continue close cooperation. The opening of trading houses will allow bringing relations between South Ossetia and Syria to a new level,” said Gennady Bekoev.

In turn, Samer Al-Khalil has emphasized that Syria is interested in establishing economic ties with South Ossetia.

“Our republics have great potential for the development of interstate cooperation. The previously signed agreements are being systematically implemented. Today we have taken the next step in this direction. South Ossetia and the SAR undoubtedly have a number of goods that are of mutual interest,” said the head of the foreign trade department of the SAR.

It should be reminded that the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Syrian Arab Republic took place in July 2018 as part of the official visit of President Anatoly Bibilov to Damascus.
