A note from the Vladikavkaz newspaper "Kermen", No. 27, August 21, 1920. Published in translation from the Ossetian original.
One can’t count all the atrocities committed by the rulers of Georgia, attacking the South Ossetians. Nothing was missed from the crimes that occur on earth. Everything was tried on the unfortunate Ossetian people, even the churches were destroyed and burned.
They burnt the Dzher Temple of Uastirdzhi, because, they say, that the holy helps Ossetians, if he had not helped them before, we would have killed them long ago, would have long expelled them from the country.
The Georgian Mensheviks, princes and nobles have long been persecuting us, drinking our blood and eating our flesh, washing their feet with our tears. Now, when we left our land, when they do not see us, they are trampling down our crops by horses, burn our houses. Our children on the road die of hunger and cold, we have no cattle left, our belongings are captured by enemies, but we do not think about these adversities and are not afraid of anything. We have lost a lot and are still ready to give for a free life, and yet we will not surrender to our enemies, but we must defend freedom to the end. We welcome you, Uastirdzhi, bringing new life to the free, poor working people.
