Former WBA Super and IBF World Heavyweight Champion Murat Gassiev will again be forced to postpone his return to the ring and, accordingly, his heavyweight debut. The reason for this was the coronavirus pandemic and the ban on mass events.
“The debut was planned for April 25. But at the moment, due to the coronavirus, the date has not been confirmed,” TASS quotes the Gassiev team’s representative.
It should be noted that Gassiev has not entered the ring since July 2018. Then in the final of the world Boxing super series (WBSS), he lost by decision to Alexander Usik and lost the titles. After that, he announced the transition to heavyweight. However, the debut in the new division was constantly hindered by various circumstances.
