In the isolation ward of the Republican Multidisciplinary Center in Tskhinval on the morning of June 25, 33 patients with laboratory-confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 are undergoing treatment, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy Head of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, told IA "Res» on Thursday.

Gagloeva clarified that all sick citizens were quarantined, so that the virus did not spread beyond the walls of the medical facilities.

"The scheme worked out initially by the Republican operational headquarters allows us to keep the situation under control for now. 114 people are currently under observation in South Ossetia, of which 83 are in the Republic’s medical facilities," she said.

In total, there were 85 cases for the entire period, of which 52 people recovered and were discharged from the medical facility.

The first three cases of infection in the Republic were recorded on May 5.

Over the entire period, 2,312 tests were performed in the PCR laboratory of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee.

Until July 31, restrictions were introduced on the border of South Ossetia with Russia due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus.
