Ivan Davidovich Tskhovrebov - platoon commander of the 1118th Infantry Regiment of the 333rd Infantry Division of the 6th Army of the 3rd Ukrainian Front, junior lieutenant. Hero of the Soviet Union. Born in 1913 in the village of Tigva in Znaur district of South Ossetia into a peasant family. Graduated from 7 classes. He worked as an accountant in the collective farm, a military commander of the Znaur secondary school.
In the Red Army since October 15, 1936. At the front in the Great Patriotic War from July 5, 1942. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1943.
He was fighting in the 333rd Infantry Division. In the summer and autumn, he took part in the Donbass and Zaporozhye offensive operations, in the liberation of the cities of Pavlograd, Sinelnikovo and Zaporozhye. On the night of September 26, he crossed the Dnieper near the village of Petro-Svistunovo, Zaporozhye region, seizing and holding the bridgehead. Then, after regrouping the division, he was transferred to the eastern bank of the Dnieper and was fighting to liberate the city of Zaporozhye. For the liberation of the city of Sinelnikovo, by order of the Supreme Command of September 8, 1943, the division was given the honorary name "Sinelnikovskaya", and for the capture of the city of Zaporozhye, it was awarded the Order of the Red Banner (10/14/1943).
After the liberation of the city of Zaporozhye, its part became part of the 6th Army of the 3rd Ukrainian Front. On the night of November 26, the 333rd Infantry Division again crossed the river. Dnepr south of Khortytsia Island, destroyed and captured more than 1000 German soldiers and officers, 4 artillery and 6 mortar batteries with a full set of ammunition. For these battles, 32 soldiers and officers of the division were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, including junior lieutenant Tskhovrebov.
The platoon commander of the 1118th Infantry Regiment, Junior Lieutenant Ivan Tskhovrebov, on the night of November 26, 1943, was among the first with the platoon entrusted to him to cross the Dnieper River near the village of Kanevskoe, Zaporizhzhye region of Ukraine, and was hplding the captured line for two days, ensuring the crossing of the river by other units 1118th Infantry Regiment.

On November 26, 1943, while crossing the Dnieper River to seize a bridgehead on the right bank under heavy artillery, mortar and machine-gun fire, junior lieutenant Tskhovrebov skillfully organized the crossing of his platoon, without loss landed, breaking the wire obstacle and shouting "Hurray!" led his platoon to storm the enemy defense, throwing grenades at the enemy's trench. As a result of a swift attack, the enemy began to withdraw in panic, and junior lieutenant Tskhovrebov with his platoon pursued him, destroying him with weapon fire. In the battles for the seizure of the bridgehead and expansion, junior lieutenant Tskhovrebov with his platoon repelled 5 enemy counter-attacks and destroyed 3 machine-gun points and over 20 Fritzes, and also captured 2 Fritzes. The junior lieutenant Tskhovrebov himself personally destroyed 8 Nazis.

By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 22, 1944, Junior Lieutenant Ivan Davidovich Tskhovrebov was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command on the front of the fight against the German-enemy invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time.
In one of the battles on December 18, 1943, Tskhovrebov perished. Buried in the village of Kanevskoe.
