In Tskhinval on Wednesday, took place an exchange of letters of ratification of the Agreement between South Ossetia and Russia on the mutual recognition of documents confirming the fact of establishing disability of persons dismissed from the Ministries of Defense and Internal Affairs of the RSO and the Russian Federation.
The document was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov.
“This is another step in the integration of South Ossetia with the Russian Federation, it will bring our countries closer together. The document will affect a large number of Russian and South Ossetian military personnel who were injured, mutilated and other diseases during their service, the Ambassador said. “They will be able to receive pensions by choice - on the territory of South Ossetia or the Russian Federation.”
Dmitry Medoev has noted that the Agreement has a direct social orientation and is of great importance for military personnel and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The most important thing that I would like to note is that the legal base of bilateral relations with the Russian Federation has been supplemented by another important agreement,” the Foreign Minister noted.
Marat Kulakhmetov and Dmitry Medoev have added that other agreements will be signed during the year, which will also contribute to the integration of the two countries.
The Agreement between South Ossetia and Russia on the mutual recognition of documents confirming the fact of establishing the disability of persons dismissed from the ministries of defense and internal affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation was signed in Moscow on March 17, 2020, ratified by the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia on March 16, 2021 and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation 9 March 2021.

The Agreement regulates the mutual recognition of documents confirming the fact of establishing the disability of persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, and persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, in order to acquire by these persons, at their choice, the rights to pension provision under the legislation of South Ossetia or under the legislation of the Russian Federation. .
