President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania awarded the Defense Minister of South Ossetia, Lieutenant General Ibragim Gasseev with the Order of Courage.
According to the press service of the RSO Defense Ministry the high award was presented to Gasseev during a solemn meeting in honor of the 28th anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia, held at the Defense Ministry of Abkhazia.
Ibrahim Gasseev expressed gratitude to President Aslan Bzhania, congratulating fraternal Abkhazia on the holiday.
“On behalf of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, on behalf of the entire South Ossetian people, I wish you prosperity, peace and well-being,” he said.
The Defense Minister has noted that by the decision of the presidents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the servicemen of the two republics will take part in the joint exercises.
“Dear President, I will be carrying this award with pride and honor,” Gasseev added.
The Defense Minister of South Ossetia has also handed over memorable gifts to the Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia.
It should be noted that Lieutenant General Ibragim Gasseev is on a visit to the Republic of Abkhazia as part of the official delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia headed by President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov to participate in the celebration of the Victory and Independence Day. The delegation has also included the Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev and others.
The main events will take place on September 30 - a ceremony of laying flowers and wreaths at the memorial in the Park of Glory in Sukhum, a solemn march of army personnel, etc.
