Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia has made an appeal to the governments of foreign states in connection with the 100th anniversary of the Ossetian genocide, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic told “Res".

They noted that the publication was released with translation into 12 languages of the world, including all the official languages of the UN.

“2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the formation of the South Ossetian Autonomous Region. The national-territorial formation of South Ossetia was established under the Soviet regime by a separate decree of April 20, 1922. The adoption of this document is inextricably linked with previous events - the bloody struggle of the South Ossetian people with Georgia for the right to a free life and a worthy future. In this regard, in 2020, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic made an appeal to the governments and peoples of the world with a call to take into account the tragic date for the people of Ossetia - the 100th anniversary of the Ossetian genocide committed by the government of Georgia in 1918-1920 of the 20th century," the preface to the publication says.

The authors of the appeal call on the United Nations Organizations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, Parliamentarians and Governments of the states of the world, the international community to condemn and call for international legal responsibility the current government of Georgia as the legal successor of the government of Georgia of 1918-1920 who committed genocide against the peaceful Ossetian population in South Ossetia.

To condemn and call for international legal responsibility the current government of Georgia as the legal successor of Bolshevik Georgia and the accomplice in the crimes committed against the civilian population of South Ossetia in the post-communist period - 1989-2008.
