Negotiations between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov took place in Moscow on Tuesday, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia reports.
"The parties exchanged views on topical issues on the bilateral political agenda and prospects for further strengthening cooperation in various areas of the South Ossetian-Russian interstate cooperation.
The talks were held in the atmosphere of openness, friendship and mutual understanding," the press service said.
They added that for the South Ossetian part, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.V. Tskhovrebov and Ambassador of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev participated in the meeting.
"On the same day, bilateral consultations were held at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at which topical issues of bilateral relations, the problems of maintaining and strengthening the existing system of regional security, including the state of affairs at the Geneva International Discussions in the context of the situation emerging in the international arena, were considered n detail ", the Ministry said.
