South Ossetia handed over the violator to Georgia

On Friday, the authorities of South Ossetia handed over the border violator to Georgia due to the expiration of his sentence, the press service of the Republic's KGB reported.

According to the department, a 40-year-old resident of the village of Gugutiantkari in the Gori municipality, Begeluri Ramaz, was detained in late April for illegally crossing the state border.

In June, the court sentenced him to imprisonment.

On October 4, due to the expiration of his sentence, he was released and handed over to the Georgian side in accordance with the established procedure.

South Ossetia and Russia will discuss the venue for Geneva discussions

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov plans to discuss at the meeting with the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev where it would be more convenient to hold discussions on security and stability in the Transcaucasia, which had previously been held in Geneva.

"We are working closely with our Abkhaz friends within the framework of consultations on Transcaucasia which until recently were held in Geneva. Now we will see where it would be more convenient to organize such meetings," Lavrov said at the beginning of talks with his South Ossetian counterpart.
