South Ossetian Presidential Envoy discussed the situation at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia with members of the Russian delegation at the Geneva discussions

Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Republic of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev has met with representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, members of the Russian delegation at the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia Dvinyaninov and Kulakhmetov.

During the meeting was discussed the situation at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia, including Leningor district, as well as preparations for new multilateral meetings in Geneva.

"With regard to new provocations carried out by the Georgian side in July in the areas, where installed border signs by representatives of South Ossetia, both sides underscored the urgent need for delimitation and demarcation works at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia.
South Ossetian side has expressed extreme concern over the incident at the border, taking place September 23, when was wounded a civilian resident of South Ossetia, who was cultivating his plot near the village of Ioncha in Znaur district."

It was noted that on the eve of the upcoming meeting in Geneva the Russian and South Ossetian sides noted the paramount importance of the question of non-use of force in Transcaucasia, the need to conclude solid legally binding agreements between the Republic of South Ossetia and Georgia, the Republic of Abkhazia and Georgia.

"It was noted that on the background of the NATO training and assessment center, opened near Tbilisi the task to provide lasting security of two new independent republics in the region is of particular relevance, - emphasized the envoy.
South Ossetian side once again underlined the importance of further expansion of South Ossetian-Russian allied relations in order to strengthen stability and security in the region. The Russian side confirmed the intention to contribute fully to strengthen the state's sovereignty and the inviolability of borders of the Republic of South Ossetia ".

The dialogue between the EU observer mission patrols with the border residents of South Ossetia is impossible - Khokh Gagloyty

In the Georgian village of Ergneti was held a meeting in the format of mechanisms to prevent and respond to incidents (IPRM).
As reported by Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Khokh Gagloyty, in the course of the meeting there were discussed issues of security around the perimeter of the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia.
"During the meeting was received alarming news concerning the inhabitant of the village of Ioncha, Znaur district of South Ossetia - said Gagloyty. - This man was cultivating his plot by a tractor and was fired from the Georgian side. As a result, he was wounded in the arm. We have brought this information to all the participants of the IPRM. This case is currently under study. "
Gagloyty has noted that the meeting took place in a calm atmosphere.
"We have studied the incidents occurred in the previous period – said Deputy Envoy. – The statistics of offenses did not go beyond the totaling measurement of the previous period. The only thing that can be noted is that in July the South Ossetian border guards recorded the fact of carrying on a dialogue between the EU observer mission patrols with residents of the South Ossetian village of Tsnelis in Znaur district of South Ossetia.
We have brought to the attention of patrols of the Mission of the European Union that it impossible to carry on such dialogues, because such communication contributes to border violation by the Observer Mission patrols, or urge some residents of South Ossetia to violate the state border. Gagloyty has also noted that is the format of the meeting was received the information concerning the fate of the missing citizens of South Ossetia.
"There is some progress in terms of establishing communication between the Georgian investigating agencies and the authorities of South Ossetia to monitor investigative measures to search for the missing citizens of South Ossetia. According to the OSCE co-chair Angelo Gnedinger, this mechanism will be implemented during the upcoming Geneva talks. "
The next meeting in the format of IPRM is scheduled for October 29.

South Ossetian President met with the delegation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has received a delegation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Ulitka, arrived in Tskhinval on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Republic.

The meeting was attended by members of the delegation - Deputy of the Parliament of PMR Andrew Sipchenko, Ambassador of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to the Republic of South Ossetia Yegor Kochiev, as well as a Chairman of the Supreme Court of South Ossetia Ilona Khubaeva.

During the meeting, Leonid Tibilov has stressed that South Ossetia has special ties of friendship with the people of Transnistria.
"People of Transnistria today live in difficult conditions and I want you to know that we are always with you - the president said. - I am sure that your Republic will be recognized and your neighbors will take on peaceful coexistence, neighborly relations. Give the people of Transnistria and the Republic's leadership my best wishes, as well as peace and prosperity."

In turn, Vitaly Ulitka thanked Leonid Tibilov for the warm reception, particularly noting Ossetian hospitality.

Raul Khajimba has congratulated the President and the people of South Ossetia on the 25th anniversary of proclamation of the Republic.

Khajimba said that for 25 years the people of South Ossetia and Abkhazia had gone through many problems.
"Our neighbors in Georgia do not realize that we must live in peace. There is not any alternative to the path that we have chosen and they have to realize this fact", - said Khajimba.
At the end of the meeting members of the Abkhazian delegation were presented state awards of the Republic.

South Ossetia is celebrating the Day of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Ossetia and Russia

Today, September 9, South Ossetia is celebrating the seventh anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.
September 9, 2008, following the historic decision of the leadership of the Russian Federation to recognize the independence of South Ossetia, was another confirmation of the assistance and support that Russia is providing to South Ossetia.
People of South Ossetia appreciate and are grateful for the efforts of the Russian Federation to sustain socio-economic development of South Ossetia and advancing its position in the international arena, as well as the maintenance of peace and stability.
To date, the level of the allied relations between Russia and South Ossetia is very high and this is evidenced by a large number of intergovernmental agreements in various fields, as well as the Agreement on Integration and Cooperation, signed between the two countries March 18, 2015.
The integration process is going on, which is confirmed by the foreign policy of the Russian Federation, determined by Presidential Decree, issued May 7, 2012, which is being actively implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

South Ossetia is commemorating the victims of the Beslan tragedy

South Ossetia is commemorating the victims of the Beslan tragedy, which claimed the 335 innocent lives in September 2004.

Leonid Tibilov met with the PMR delegation

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has received a delegation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR).
The meeting was attended by the head of the Presidential Executive Office Alan Dzhioev, the head of the Official Representative of the PMR in South Ossetia Egor Kochiev, Deputy Chairman of the government of Transnistria, the head of the government of the PMR Alexander Kisnichan, the Chairman of the public chamber of the PMR Sergey Smerchansky, the head of the Department on the CIS countries Affairs of the Foreign Minister of the Republic Alexander Stetsyuk.

In South Ossetia has been marked the Day of the Missing

The photo exhibition dedicated to the persons to be missing in South Ossetia "Memories of a lifetime", has been opened today on the Day of the Missing in the Concert Hall "Chermen."
At the exhibition were presented photos from the same book, in which are published stories told by relatives of the missing. The book was published in 2014 in Russian. In 2015, the publication has been translated into Ossetian language and released. These books were also presented at the exhibition.
The photo exhibition was organized by the Department for the Missing headed by Lydia Kudzieva under the South Ossetian public organization "Memory", with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The event was attended by relatives of the persons to be missing during the 1989- 2008Georgian aggression , the ICRC representatives, Vice Premier of South Ossetia Eric Pukhaev, Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament Anatoly Bibilov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, Presidential Adviser for Social Affairs Rodion Siukaev, Presidential Commissioner of South Ossetia for Human Rights Inal Tasoev, Rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev, the government officials and parliamentarians.
Opening the event, Lidia Kudzieva has noted that all the relatives of the missing persons live in hope that someone will clarify the fate of their loved ones.
"Over the past five years a lot has been done. There have been several exhumations, systematic information about the missing. Thanks to the efforts of the Red Cross, many families have received food assistance, and participated in its microeconomic programs. The ICRC regularly organizes commemorative events ", - she said, expressing gratitude to the leadership of the mission and its staff for their full support.

The head of the ICRC mission in South Ossetia Jan Mishkots expressed his solidarity with the families of the persons to be missing in South Ossetia and around the world.
"When people are missing, there are two victims. Those who are missing and their families, friends, who live in despair and hope, with the pain of waiting for the news for many years ", - he said.
Mishkots told about the assistance provided by the mission to the families of the missing persons.

It should be noted that as a result of the 1989 -1992 Georgian aggression, more than 140 residents of South Ossetia are listed to be missing.
