KGB connects the provocation on the border with mass protests in Georgia

The State Security Committee of South Ossetia stated on Thursday that the attempts by the Georgian opposition, its Western curators, and official Tbilisi to gain political points on the Georgian citizen Vazhe Gaprinadashvili, as well as exerting pressure on the Republic’s authorities to improve its internal rating, are futile.

South Ossetia will host the events dedicated to the Day of Courage and National Unity - November 23, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic reports.

“On November 22, a ceremonial meeting on the Day of Courage and National Unity and a concert «Dedicated to the Guys of Our Yard” will be held at the Chermen State Concert Hall in Tskhinval. On the same day, in the evening, the play “Afkhardty Hassana” will be shown at the State Drama Theater,” the press service said.

The issue of preparing for the 100th anniversary of the tragic date - the genocide of the Ossetian people of 1920-1921 was discussed at a meeting of the Committee on National Politics, Culture, Religion and the Media, the press service reported.

South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev discussed with representatives of an Italian law firm the possibility of assistance in preparation of a lawsuit against Georgia over the genocide of South Ossetians in 1920. The Minister informed TASS about this following the results of his trip to Italy.

A delegation of the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions visited Tskhinval to discuss the agenda for the upcoming fiftieth round. In addition to official events, the co-chairs had the opportunity to visit the Republican Medical Multidisciplinary Center. In the morning they had a protocol meeting with their South Ossetian colleagues, after which the head of state Anatoly Bibilov also received them.

The dialogue lasted several hours. Following the meeting, the co-chairs told reporters about the results.

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, at a meeting with the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions, expressed regret that the parties could not find a common solution on the situation at the border.

The co-chairs arrived in the Republic to discuss with the South Ossetian colleagues the agenda of the next round of the Geneva discussions.

The main objective of the Geneva discussions - the development of a legally binding document on the non-use of force, has become more relevant lately, in spite of the events that we have been observing in recent months, said Murat Dzhioyev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy at a meeting with the co-chairs.

KGB told details about the detention of the Georgian doctor

The State Security Committee of South Ossetia has noted an increase in the number of crimes related to violation of the state border of the Republic with Georgia since the beginning of November, the committee’s press service reports.

As previously reported, since the beginning of the month, the KGB Border Service detained 40 violators, to whom the court determined various penalties.

The Geneva discussions Co-Chairs are arriving in South Ossetia on Tuesday to discuss the agenda for the upcoming Geneva discussions.

In December, the fiftieth round of the Geneva discussions will be held, the co-chairs intend to discuss with the South Ossetian colleagues the agenda for the upcoming round.

Italian lawyers can represent the interests of South Ossetia (RSO) in international courts in the case of a corresponding appeal of the authorities of the Republic on the issue of genocide of South Ossetians committed by the authorities of the Georgian democratic Republic in the 1919-1920-ies, told RIA Novosti on Monday, the foreign Minister of RSO Dmitry Medoev.
