President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin congratulated President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev on the upcoming holidays - the New Year and the bright holiday of the Nativity of Christ, the press service of the head of state reports.

Relations between our countries are developing in ascending order. Programs of socio-economic assistance to South Ossetia are being systematically implemented.

In the congratulatory message addressed to President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar al-Assad, Gagloev noted that "the upcoming holidays unite people, gather relatives and friends at the family hearth, symbolize faith in mercy and philanthropy, carry the expectation of a miracle."
