The South Ossetian delegation will take part in the Russian World Assembly in Moscow, - Lali Kokoeva, Deputy Director of the Russian Center of the Russian World Foundation at the South Ossetian State University, told IA "Res".

She has specified that the event will traditionally be held on the eve of National Unity Day on November 2-3. The 16th Russian World Assembly will be opened by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The scientific conference on the topic the "250th Anniversary of Ossetia's Accession to Russia" was held at the Z. N. Vaneev South Ossetian Research Institute on Thursday.

Director of the scientific Institute Robert Gagloity addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech.

At the beginning of the conference, the most distinguished representatives of the scientific community were awarded medals "In Commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the People of South Ossetia".

A delegation from South Ossetia is participating in the VIII World Congress of Compatriots Living Abroad "Together with Russia", the chairperson of the coordinating council of Russian compatriots in South Ossetia Natalia Zhuykova told the "Res" news agency.

According to her, the event is taking place in Moscow and has brought together more than 400 leaders and activists of the Russian community from more than a hundred countries.

The delegation of South Ossetia took part in the III International Scientific and Methodological Conference "Current Issues of Teaching Russian as a Foreign/Native Language: Russian and Foreign Practices" in Stavropol.

As reported to IA "Res" by Vice-Rector of the South Ossetia State University, Head of the Department of Russian Language, Professor Zalina Tedeeva, the organizer of the conference is the North Caucasus Federal University.
