The Basketball Federations of South Ossetia, Russia and Abkhazia are strengthening sports ties

The Basketball Federation of South Ossetia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Federations of Russia and Abkhazia.

As reported to IA "Res" by the head of the South Ossetian Federation Taimuraz Goginov, the signing took place in Sukhum on Thursday as part of the festive events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Abkhaz basketball.

The Memorandum with the Federation of Russia was signed by Taimuraz Goginov and the executive director of the Russian Basketball Federation Vladimir Dyachok.

Russia has stated the need to delimit Georgia's borders with South Ossetia and Georgia

The Russian party called on Georgia to provide guarantees of the non-use of force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia and to launch the process of delimiting the borders with the two republics, according to the press release of the Russian Foreign Ministry following the 62nd round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia, held in Geneva on November 5-6.

“The participants confirmed their common commitment to this format, which remains a popular negotiating platform for the post-conflict restoration of Tbilisi's relations with Sukhum and Tskhinval.
