The South-Ossetian part of JCC: «A person with such a spirit as Kurashvili cannot head a battalion, involved in a peace-making operation»

The apparatus of the south-ossetian part of JCC has sent a letter to the co-chairmen of JCC from the Russian, the North-Ossetian and the Georgian sides, in which in particular it is spoken:
«On August, 31st the Georgian mass media have spread a statement referring the senior military chief of the georgian battalion of JPKF Mamuka Kurashvili, that the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokojty has ostensibly proposed the establishment of means of anti-missile defence on the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia. In the information of the georgian mass-media there are also given the offensive words of M.Kurashvili in the address of the supreme political leader of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The attempt of penetration on the guarded object of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia is prevented

In the night from August, 31st for September, 1st in Dzhava region of RSO there was prevented the attempt of penetration on a guarded object of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RSO. The infringer tried to get on the object. After the hail of the sentry the infringer has tried to disappear. In spite of the fact that the sentry has made a precautionary shot upwards but the infringer has not obeyed. The sentry has been compelled to open fire for destruction. A criminal case is brought on the given fact. In the interests of investigation the personality of the infringer is not divulged.

The South-Ossetian side insists on taking necessary measures for carrying out of a monitoring with the purpose of finding-out of the circumstances of detention of the peacemakers

The South-Ossetian part of JCC informs that till now we are not aware of the ubiety and the state of health of the detained peacemakers from Ossetia - the fire sergeant of the peace-making battalion of JPKF from Ossetia the ensign Valiev Vitaliy Otkievich and the commander of the branch the sergeant Khachirov Aron Shalvovich. That is spoken in the letter of the co-chairman of JCC from South Ossetia Boris Chochiev to the co-chairmen of JCC from the Russian, the North -Ossetian and the Georgian sides.

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia

On August 25, three Georgian citizens were detained by the law supporting officials of South Ossetia. The detainees carrying video equipment penetrated into the Leningori region of South Ossetia, in violation of the rules established by Republic’s legislation for the citizens of the neighbouring states. On August 27, journalists from the Georgian TV-companies ‘Rustavi-2’ and ‘Mze’ were also detained by the representatives of the Republic’s Internal Ministry on charges of violating the rules established for entry and stay on South Ossetia’s territory and of carrying out video filming without proper accreditation.
After proper investigation and with the observance of all legal procedures the detainees were deported from South Ossetia’s territory.

The South-Ossetian part of JCC: «The kidnapping of the ossetian peacemakers is committed within the limits of the carried out campaign in Georgia on discredit of the peace-making role of Russia»

The Co-chairman of JCC from the South-Ossetian side Boris Chochiev has sent a letter to the co-chairmen of JCC from the Russian, the North-Ossetian and the Georgian sides - to Juriy Popov, Murat Tkhostov and Dmitriy Mandzhavidze. In the letter, in particular, it is spoken:
«On August, 29th at 8 o"clock in the morning the georgian side has carried out the next provocation against the military men of an ossetian battalion of the peace-making forces in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict. Three ossetian peacemakers, following from the settlement Tsinagari on a service vehicle of JPKF, have been seized by the employees of the power structures of Georgia without any explanation of the reasons.

Boris Chochiev: «The georgian side purposely breaks the mandate of its battalion of the peace-making forces»

The South-Ossetian side marks, that the georgian side purposely breaks the mandate of its battalion of the peace-making forces, continues creating difficulties for the peace-making operation, in infringement of the before signed agreements submits not to the Joint Military Command of JPKF, but to the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. That is spoken in the letter of the co-chairman of JCC from South Ossetia Boris Chochiev to the co-chairmen of JCC from the Russian, the North-Ossetian and the Georgian sides.

The Message of the Joint Staff of JPKF

On August, 29th, 2007 at 8.00am by the georgian power structures on behalf of the Ministry of State Security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia at the illegally placed post in the area of the settlement Bershueti in the zone of the conflict have been detained three military men of the peace-making battalion from the Republic of North Ossetia-Аlania, following from the settlement Tsinagar on a service car of the peace-making forces. Not explaining the reason of detention and not having presented any charges in their address, the detained persons under compulsion have been taken out to the town of Gori, beyond the bounds of the zone of the conflict. Further on two of them were delivered to the town of Mtskheta close to the city of Tbilisi, and the third one, accompanied by the georgian peacemakers, was delivered to the town of Tskhinval. The command of JPKF and the Co-chairmen of JCC are not informed in writing about the given detention of the military men of the peace-making forces. The information on the given incident has been received by the command of JPKF in an oral form from the chief of the staff of the peacekeeping forces of Georgia only on August, 29th, 2007 at 11.30am.

The peacemakers are detained by the power structures of Georgia

Today the military men of the ossetian battalion of JPKF, carrying service at Tsinagar observant post of JPKF - the assistant of the company commander Murat Bighenov, the fire sergeant ensign Vitaliy Valiev and the commander of the branch sergeant Aron Khachirov have been detained by the employees of the branch of the state security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia as a result of special action. The correspondent of the agency "Res" have been informed about it at the information-analytical department of the apparatus of the south-ossetian part of the Joint Control Commission.

The georgian peacemakers have fired the post of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia

Approximately at 18:00pm the georgian side has fired from an automatic weapon the post of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia near the georgian-populated village Avnevi in the area of Znaur region of the Republic of South Ossetia. The press-service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia informs about it.
The fire was conducted from the georgian peace-making post in Avnevi within half an hour. The ossetian side did not open reciprocal fire. According to the preliminary data there are no victims there. At present the group of monitoring, consisting of the representatives of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces and the Mission of OSCE, has driven over to the place of the event with the purpose of finding-out the reasons of the incident.
