Report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia for 2012

In 2012 Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued its activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia, the law and the legal framework of the Republic. The main directions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2012 were aimed at the development strategy of the Republic of South Ossetia, designated by President of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in 2012 was creating and strengthening a positive objective image of the Republic of South Ossetia in the world as a sovereign democratic country with all the trappings of a modern state, showing transparency and willingness to cooperate with all countries.

Media Review of Georgia: 850,000 Georgians said, "Saakashvili Farewell!" Former authorities accused lumpenproletariat of their defeat

"The organizers of the protest action delivered an ultimatum to the administration of the president," - reads the headline of an article published by the Georgian information publication "MediaNews" January 4, 2013.
"Today, in Tbilisi, in front of the presidential palace was held the protest action for the resignation of President Mikhail Saakashvili. A Chairman of the political party "Tetrebi" Temur Shashiashavili gave an ultimatum to the president's office, including 8 points, signed by 50 non-governmental organizations, well-known public officials and representatives of civil society.

The Christmas Day is being celebrated in South Ossetia

Orthodox Christians in South Ossetia, along with the world Orthodox are celebrating the Christmas Day. The night before the Primate of the Alanian - Tskhinval Eparchy, His Grace Bishop Ambrose Mefonsky – Alanic, chanted the Christmas liturgy at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tskhinval. A festive liturgy was attended by South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov. The Orthodox holiday was also marked by the cross procession on the streets adjacent to the temple.

December 27, Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze said at a press conference that Georgia would continue working actively to increase in 2013 the number of countries voting in support of the UN resolution on Georgia "On the situation of the internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia and the Tskhinvali region / South Ossetia, Georgia."

South Ossetia eliminates any contacts with Georgia, while Georgia does not recognize the independence of South Ossetia and the genocide of Ossetians

South Ossetia will not make any contacts with the new Georgian government, if Georgia does not recognize the independence of the Republic and the genocide of the Ossetian people. This has been announced by President of the RSO Leonid Tibilov at the ongoing meeting with media representatives and the public in Tskhinval.

Has been appointed a new ambassador of South Ossetia to Venezuela

Daniel Tibilov has been appointed a new ambassador of South Ossetia to Venezuela.
As IA "Res" has been informed at the presidential administration of South Ossetia,an Executive Order on appointing Daniel Izrailovich Tibilov the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was signed by the South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov.
