Before the event, President of the Republic Alan Gagloev familiarized himself with the international photo project "We Accuse!" - on the evidence of Ukrainian crimes in Donbass and other frontline Russian territories. The photo exhibition is located in front of the building of the State Drama Theater.

For South Ossetia, Defender of the Fatherland Day has a special meaning, since not only the Armed Forces and security forces, but also all residents of the Republic, fighters of self-defense units were defending their homeland. Dzhioev reminded that, on the instructions of President Alan Gagloev, the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry sent the official note to the Russian Foreign Ministry with a request to exclude the Republic from the list of countries subject to this resolution.

Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov presented jubilee medals "80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" to three veterans - home front workers, the press service of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Ossetia reports.

"Ilya Arsenovich Khugaev, Zamira Aleksandrovna Gagloeva, and Boris Georgievich Dzhioev received the medals from the Ambassador's hands," the press service has noted.
