The visit of the Georgian experts delegation to Vladikavkaz – is a new stage of the so-called

This has been said by the Chief of the Caucasus Studies of the Russian Institute of Strategic Research Jana Amelina in an interview to IA "Res", commenting on the meetings of representatives of the Georgian non-governmental organizations with the North Ossetian students and social activists being held in Vladikavkaz.

Recently, under the so-called "people's diplomacy" the new Georgian government sent its emissaries to Russia, mainly to North Ossetia, for meetings with the Ossetian public. How do you assess the actions of the Georgian authorities and the position of some Ossetians who agreed to take part in such actions?

There is nothing surprising in such actions.
As it is known, representatives of the political bloc of the "Georgian Dream", both during the campaign and now have been declaring that they will draw South Ossetia and Abkhazia in Georgia. In this case they are not talking about the recognition of the independence of these countries.

Comment of the Plenipotentiary of the President of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev on the statements of the current Georgian authorities to amend the so-called law on "the occupied territories."

The so-called law on the occupied territories of Georgia was adopted in autumn 2008, after the failed attempt of the Georgian authorities to seize South Ossetia, applying military force. In essence, this "law" was a clear demonstration of the fact that Saakashvili continued pursuing the policy of Gamsakhurdia, aimed at tight blockade of South Ossetia.

Parliament of South Ossetia condemned the meeting of the Georgian officials with the Ossetian community organizations and official institutions. During the today`s Presidium of the Parliament of South Ossetia, the Speaker of the legislative body Stanislav Kochiev has said that yesterday in North Ossetia was planned a meeting of the so-called scientists and public figures of Georgia with the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Taimuraz Mamsurov.

At the round table in Tskhinval, organized by the Ministry of Defence as part of series of events devoted to the struggle of the people of South Ossetia for independence and freedom, were discussed the events of the late 1980's, early 90's, when Georgia had launched a military aggression against South Ossetia.
