Russia holds an interest in the effective leadership of South Ossetia, said the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev at the meeting in Vladikavkaz with the candidate for president of South Ossetia, the head of the Emergency Ministry Anatoly Bibilov. "We hold interest in the effective leadership of the Republic that will help the citizens, which will address the most important problems - Medvedev has underlined. – What about the Russian Federation, of course, we will pursue the same policy - both financially and ensuring the security of the Republic within the framework of the concluded agreements, "- he has added. The Russian president called Bibilov "the man, known not only in our republic," which "has been actively working with our guys, solving very complex tasks."
For his part, Bibilov has expressed confidence that South Ossetia will continue the policy of closer relations with Russia and will strengthen friendship between the two states. Medvedev has noted that the step which Russia made in 2008, having defended South Ossetia, is "irreversible." It should be reminded that the second round of presidential elections in South Ossetia will be held on November 27. According to results of the last presidential election on November 13 the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Anatoly Bibilov and ex-Minister of Education Alla Dzhioeva collected 24.86% and 24.8% of votes respectively and they will contest in the second round of the elections.
