South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has met with a delegation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, arrived in the Republic to participate in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Parliament of South Ossetia.
The delegation has included the head of the parliamentary faction "Rodina" of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Arthur Tovmasyan, the Secretary-General of the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Simon Afiyan. The meeting was also attended by deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia.
Leonid Tibilov welcomed the guests and expressed condolences to the families and friends of those killed as a result of hostilities on the territory of the Republic.
"What is happening in Nagorno-Karabakh, South Ossetia's people met with great grief, as our countries adhere to the principles of peaceful conflict resolution, - the president said. -All over the world must be understood that when the Republic has endured for decades an independent life, then this must be considered. However, there are forces that do not want to deviate from their own personal principles, triggered double standards and this is the moment we need to be together. "
Leonid Tibilov has expressed hope that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh will soon be settled.
The Secretary-General Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Simon Afiyan thanked Leonid Tibilov for the support.
"I am proud that our circle of friends is expanding in Ossetia - Afiyan said. - We are moved by the reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, as well as all those who responded to our distress and supported us. "
According to Semen Afiyan, the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is similar to the events of August 2008 in South Ossetia.
"We have chosen our future, and we will adhere to our principles, despite the difficulties," - he stressed.
Leonid Tibilov has awarded Semen Afiyan and Arthur Tovmasyan the medals "In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia".
