President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, said that the development of cooperation between the Italian and South Ossetian cities would help the relations of South Ossetia and Italy to reach the interstate level. The head of state said this at a meeting with the Deputy head of the city of Randazzo Carmelo Tindaro Scalizi in Tskhinval.
The delegation of the province of Catania of the Italian Republic, headed by the Deputy head of the municipality of Randazzo Carmelo Tindaro Scalizi, arrived in Tskhinval on a three-day visit. On Wednesday, a cooperation agreement was signed between the capital of South Ossetia, Tskhinval, and the Italian city of Randazzo.
The President welcomed the guests, noting that it is nice when there are people who are interested in South Ossetia, its history, high culture and hospitable people. “We attach great importance to the Agreement signed today, as we strive to learn more about our Republic, its democratic principles, culture, friendliness and willingness to cooperate,” the President said.
He has stressed that the development of relations between the South Ossetian and Italian cities, will allow to bring the relations of the two countries to the interstate level.
In turn, Carmelo Tindaro Scalizi thanked Anatoly Bibilov for the warm welcome and shared his impressions of the picturesque beauty of the nature of South Ossetia. “South Ossetia is a democratic and very friendly country. We were met here like brothers. We are glad that we have signed a cooperation agreement with the administration of the city of Tskhinval. It will serve as the basis for the fruitful advancement of bilateral relations. Now the work will go not only with the city Randazzo, but also with other Italian cities. There are good prospects for our friendship, ” he said.
The President also noted that he had been to Italy and this country made a big impression. He has remined that he had a meeting with the current Prime Minister of Italy, Mr. Matteo Salvini.
Earlier, a cooperation agreement was signed between Tskhinval and the Italian city of Gradar.
