President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, congratulated the President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan on the day of the revival of Artsakh, the press service of the head of state reports.

“On behalf of the leadership, the people of the Republic of South Ossetia and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate you and your people on the national holiday - the Day of Revival of Artsakh,” the message reads.

Anatoly Bibilov has noted that the events of February 20, 1988 became a turning point in the life of the Artsakh people.

For the first time in the history of the Republic, South Ossetia received students from the Syrian Arab Republic, said rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev.

“Since January of this year, two young people from Syria entered the faculty of Russian philology, one on the basis of higher education and the other on the basis of secondary education. In the history of South Ossetia, this happens for the first time,” said Tedeev.

The Minister called it obvious the fact that the actions of the United States are aimed at the destruction of the statehood of Venezuela.

The official delegation of parliamentarians of the Syrian Arab Republic will arrive in South Ossetia in April, 2019, said Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic, Peter Gassiev, during the regular session.

"The Syrian Arab Republic gladly accepted our invitation to visit South Ossetia and its representatives are going to arrive in April. This will be the first official visit of the Syrian delegation, during which will take place the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the parliaments of South Ossetia and Syria," said Gassiev.

Deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia considered the cooperation agreements between the Parliament of the Republic and the People’s Councils of the DPR and the LPR.

The question at the meeting was raised by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Igor Kochiev.

As noted by Kochiev, based on the mutual desire of both parties to expand and strengthen inter-parliamentary ties and exchange experience in the field of lawmaking, the legislative bodies agreed on mutual cooperation.

The visit of the South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov to Venezuela to participate in the inauguration of Nicolas Maduro marked the intensification of the Republic’s foreign policy in the Latin American direction, told the "Res" news agency South Ossetian expert Yuri Vazagov .

An important protocol event, in his opinion, was successfully used by the head of state to establish contacts with the leaders of a number of countries, including the President of El Salvador.
