The delegation of the South Ossetian Parliament is participating as international observers in the repeat vote on the early presidential elections in Abkhazia.

Members of the South Ossetian Parliament will take part in the second round of the presidential elections in Abkhazia as international observers, Zaza Driaev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Relations, told IA "Res".

"Our delegation is in Abkhazia. Polling stations will be opened on Saturday at 8:00 a.m., and we will begin observing the elections. We plan to visit as many polling stations as possible," Driaev said.

A meeting was held in Moscow between Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev and Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Republic of South Ossetia Alba Torres.

"The parties signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua on the mutual waiver of visa formalities for holders of diplomatic, official, service and foreign passports," the press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic reports.

A delegation from the North Caucasus Federal University headed by Rector Dmitry Bespalov visited South Ossetia, the NCFU press service reports. During a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic Konstantin Dzhussoev, it was noted that the University was s expanding the training program for civil servants and teachers of South Ossetia, and the results of cooperation over 10 years were summed up.

The Ossetian community of the Sechenov University represented the Republic at the Unity Day festival of nations, the press service of the Moscow Ossetian Community reports.

“Over the course of seven days, the students represented dozens of Russian regions and foreign countries, and various events were organized at various university venues.

​These were sports competitions, intellectual quizzes, a food fest, and a donor campaign was held,” the press service has noted.
