Georgia has once again raised the degree of tension on the border line of the Republic of South Ossetia and Georgia by firing in the direction of the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Presidential Executive Office said.
"Thus, Georgia has confirmed its aggressive intentions towards South Ossetia and created a situation dangerous for residents of the border villages," the Presidential Executive Office noted.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia called on the Georgian side to abandon the course towards provoking a conflict and to refrain from any steps that could lead to an escalation of tension in the region, the Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry is closely monitoring the situation associated with the provocative actions of Georgia in the border areas of the Republic of South Ossetia.
