The joint statement of the heads of the South-Ossetian, the Russian and the North-Ossetian parts of JCC

On July, 13th, 2007 in Tskhinval took place the working meeting of the co-chairmen of JCC from the South-Ossetian, the Russian and the North-Ossetian parties. The participants of the meeting have estimated the situation in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict as tending to further aggravation, have discussed the possible ways of settlement of the accumulated problems, leading to aggravation of intensity in the region. The parties have expressed deep concern about the proceeding slipping of the negotiating process on the background of placing illegal posts of the power structures, construction of fortifications and the other actions of the Georgian side, leading to aggravation of the armed opposition.

The advisory meeting of the co-chairmen of JCC takes place in Tskhinval

The tripartite advisory meeting of the co-chairmen of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) on settlement of the georgian-ossetian conflict from Russia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Аlania and the Republic of South Ossetia takes place in Tskhinval. During the meeting it is planned to discuss the situation that has developed in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict.

The Russian journalists are in Tbilisi

Under the specified information, the journalists of the TV channel "Russia" have been detained today at 11:40am by the employees of the Kurta department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia while preparation of a material about the activity of JPKF. The absence of Georgian visas by the journalists has served as an official occasion for detention. However, the journalists worked in the zone of the conflict at presence of the representatives of the press-service of JPKF and according to the legal regulations of work of a journalist in the zone of the conflict. As they have informed at the press-service of JPKF, there was an arrangement on shooting with the Georgian observers of the peace-making battalion. The Georgian side has undertaken a false arrest of the Russian journalists Andrey Chistjakov and Igor Sturita.

The visit of the chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has passed without any excesses

In some of the Russian mass-media there was an information, that during the visit of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Rene Van Der Linden to the Republic of South Ossetia, there have ostensibly taken place protest actions in Tskhinval. Thus the reference is made on the State Committee on Information and Press of RSO.

The Georgian side has again blocked the water delivery to Tskhinval

Already the second day Tskhinval, the capital of the Republic of South Ossetia, practically does not receive potable water. Problems have once again arisen on the site of the water sluice Edis-Tskhinval in the area of the georgian-populated villages Tamarasheni-Kekhvi, controllable by the Georgian side.
