In the morning on 27 March, a U.S. citizen, the "New York Times" correspondent Christopher John Cheevers had been detained on an attempted crossing of the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia in the village of Mosabruni (Leningor dstrict), reports the news release of the RSO KGB.
The Independent International Fact-finding mission on South Ossetian-Georgian conflict had published the first conclusions naming the Georgian President Saakashvili as the initiator of the hostilities. According to several media sources, the conclusion was made on the grounds of secret order by the Georgian leader about the start of operation “on restoring constitutional order” in South Ossetia.
The situation around South Ossetia acquires a new coil. Georgia untwists here the introduced mechanism of a puppet government to split the ossetian society. It turns out poorly. But the intensity, nevertheless, grows in the zone of the conflict. On May, 7th, 2007 the group of military observers from the Russian Federation, North Ossetia-Аlania Republic and Georgia together with the representatives of the Mission of OSCE in the course from 12.00pm till 16:30pm had been held a monitoring of the southwest part of the zone of responsibility of JPKF on the route: Tskhinval - Avnevi - Prisnevi - Velebi - Dzvileti - Kvatetri - Gogeti. During the monitoring an antiaircraft-machine-gun installation ZU-23-2 is found in 300 m to the south-east of the northern outskirts of the ossetian village Dzvileti.
