The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has registered the third candidate for president of South Ossetia-Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to Russia Dmitry Medoev. As reported to IA "Res" by the CEC secretary Irina Gassieva, "today the CEC meeting has been held in Tskhinval, where the documents of the presidential aspirants were considered. "So the CEC made a decision to register Dmitry Medoev as the third candidate for the presidency of the Republic," - said Gassieva. Following the results of verification of the documents, the CEC refused the registration of entrepreneur Rustem Dzhioev and the CEO of insurance company "Yugosetsotsstrakh" Felix Bitiev.
According to Gassieva, at the tomorrow meeting the Central Election Committee will also consider the documents of the chief bailiff Sergei Bitiev and the State Guard officer Sergei Pliev.
"Tomorrow another contender for the post of head of the state - the leader of the Communist Party of South Ossetia, Stanislav Kochiev - will take an exam in knowing two official languages (Ossetian and Russian)," - said Gassieva. The CEC will publish the final list of registered candidates on February 29.
It should be reminded, that earlier the Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has registered ex-Chairman of the KGB of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov and Human Rights Ombudsman under the President of South Ossetia David Sanakoev, as the candidates for the presidency.
Re-election of the President of South Ossetia is scheduled for March 25.
The results of the elections, held November, 27, 2011, were recognized invalid by the Supreme Court of South Ossetia because of the committed violations.
