During the teleconference Moscow-Minsk-Yerevan-Tskhinval-Sukhum, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Chernyshov spoke about the areas of interaction between Russia and South Ossetia, which will receive a new impetus due to the approval of the Concept of the Russian Federation's Humanitarian Policy Abroad.
According to Chernyshov, a number of cooperation programs are already being implemented.
“It seems to me that priority areas will be education, youth policy, sports and tourism. I was amazed when I came to visit you a few years ago. You have an incredible nature, as if you were in a fairy tale. When one arrive in your republic, it is noticed that almost all the guys go in for sports. Ossetian athletes have always complemented athletes from Russia in a number of ways. There should be a competitive struggle in strength sports, and this would be right. Together we complement each other with our strength, experience and knowledge,” he said.
Chernyshov has noted that unfriendly countries do not want to see Russian tourists, from which, according to him, they themselves will lose more.
“We must visit our regions and develop domestic tourism. There is an incredible program of Rosmolodezh - “More than a trip”, where Ossetia, Abkhazia and other countries should also be actively involved. This is very important, because you can do more than just tourism, where you can admire nature. You have had incredible historical events. Coming to Tskhinval, you see new houses, but you also notice the buildings that were scorched by the war. It is very important for a person to feel the connection of generations, connection with history - this saturates and a comprehensive approach is required here,”added the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma.
According to the speaker, today young people want to develop themselves both mentally and physically.
“I know that a number of universities, including the RANEPA, are launching a large free program for guys from the CIS so that they can receive additional education in the areas of public administration, cultural exchange, where we invite guys from Ossetia to participate,” the speaker has noted.
The Deputy Chairman of the State Duma shared his impressions about a large forum he recently visited in Kyrgyzstan, where it was said that it was necessary to exchange experience.
“There are wonderful RANEPA projects that train officials from various executive authorities. We see that the decision-making process becomes faster due to the creation of such a system. This is not only correspondence with certain regulations, but also friendly relations, the basis of which is to improve the work of one’s government body and help to achieve state goals, so there should be more such programs,” Chernyshov believes.
He has noted that the youth of Ossetia should actively participate in the programs of the platform “Russia is a country of opportunities!” and in the programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and has also added that the Republic needs to enter the global humanitarian space, where Russia and South Ossetia will only complement each other.
