President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov convened on Thursday morning the Security Council of the Republic in connection with the situation in Ukraine and the special military operation announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Due to the sharp complication of the military-political situation in the Ukrainian direction and the start of a special military operation to ensure the security of the LPR-DPR, an emergency meeting of the Security Council of South Ossetia was held on February 24.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia issued a message in connection with the start of the Russian military operation to protect the inhabitants of the DPR. The document is posted on the official website of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic.

On Thursday afternoon, a convoy of vehicles left Tskhinval for the DPR to deliver refugees to South Ossetia.
“In connection with the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, on behalf of the President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov, a vehicle was allocated for the transportation of internally displaced persons - women and children from the Donetsk People's Republic to South Ossetia,” Minister of Emergency Situations Azamat Chochiev said.
According to Chochiev, the convoy will reach the DPR around midnight.
