President Alan Gagloev met with the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Sergei Menyailo, who arrived in Tskhinval to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the 14th anniversary of the recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.

President Alan Gagloev has received the delegation of the Republic of Dagestan, who arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the celebrations in honor of the 14th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation, the press service of the head of state has reported.

The delegation was headed by Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs Enrik Muslimov.

According to the presidential press service, the meeting was also attended by the Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov.

The Russian Federation, despite the most powerful opposition from Western countries, made the only just decision, and on August 26, 2008, recognized the Republic as a sovereign and independent state.
