August 2008. How it has remained in our memory
On the night of August 7, 2008, when heavy shelling began, several people hid in the basement of the house of a resident of the village of Dmenis in the Tskhinval district of South Ossetia, Zaira Khuriyeva.
Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev, during his working visit to Moscow, met with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, with whom he discussed the agenda for the socio-economic development of the Republic.

The parties reaffirmed their mutual intention to comprehensively strengthen the South Ossetian-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance.
In Moscow, on August 4, an Agreement was signed between Russia and South Ossetia on promoting the implementation of the State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia for 2022-2025, the press service of the government reports.
For the South Ossetian part, the document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Dzambolat Tadtaev, for the Russian part - Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.
From the beginning of the military aggression in August 2008, a long 14 years have passed. Over the years, a new generation has grown up in peaceful South Ossetia, which has not faced the horrors of war, does not remember the burned streets of its native city and the roar of shells.
Several explosive devices were found in one of the households of the capital of South Ossetia on Thursday, Atsamaz Bitiev, senior duty officer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, told the “Res” news agency.
“Grenades and cartridges were found on June 8 Street in a private household during the construction works. The call came from the owner of the house at 12:20. Sappers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene. The ammunition was successfully seized and taken out for subsequent destruction,” Bitiyev said.
