Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev held a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

"During the conversation, some topical aspects of the Embassy's activities aimed at further strengthening friendly South Ossetian-Russian relations were discussed," the statement of the press service reads.

In South Ossetia, 23 violators of the law in the border area were detained at various sections of the state border in March, the KGB of the Eepublic reports.

The Committee has clarified that 10 of the detainees violated the state border regime, and 13 violated the border regime.

“The border service of the KGB conducted investigations on each fact of violation of legal regimes. As a result, 18 people were subjected to the administrative fine and 5 people were warned,” the press service said.

During the next round of international discussions on security in Transcaucasia, held on April 4-5 in Geneva, this issue was given the main attention, the statement of the South Ossetian delegation reads.

The meeting in Geneva was held in two working groups: on security and on humanitarian issues.

The heads of the ministries of culture of Abkhazia and South Ossetia are developing joint events in honor of the landmark anniversary - the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the republics by the Russian Federation. This was announced at the briefing in Tskhinval by the head of Ministry of Culture of Abkhazia, Daur Kove.

A two-day 57th round of discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia began in Geneva on Tuesday. On Wednesday, in the capital of South Ossetia, at the State Drama Theater, the grand opening of the Days of Culture of Abkhazia took place.

The event was opened by Minister of Culture of South Ossetia Rada Dzagoeva, the head of the Ministry of Culture of Abkhazia Daur Kove and Ambassador of Abkhazia to South Ossetia Alan Elbakiev.

“We came to this together, and today we have the opportunity to implement these activities. We are looking forward to the arrival in Abkhazia in the near future of the creative teams of our fraternal South Ossetia,” Kove said.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev received on Wednesday the delegation of Abkhazia, which had arrived in the Republic, headed by Minister of Culture Daur Kove. Alan Gagloev greeted the guests, noting the importance of intercultural interaction.

“Our peoples had to go through a lot together, lending a brotherly shoulder to each other. Many representatives of the Ossetian people took part in the Patriotic War of Abkhazia, many of them were awarded a high award - the hero of Abkhazia,” the President said.
