President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev congratulated the leaders of friendly countries on the upcoming New Year 2023 and the great holiday of the Nativity of Christ, the press service of the head of state reports.

In the congratulatory message addressed to President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar al-Assad, Gagloev noted that "the upcoming holidays unite people, gather relatives and friends at the family hearth, symbolize faith in mercy and philanthropy, carry the expectation of a miracle."

Citizens of Turkmenistan and Turkey, violated the border of South Ossetia with Georgia in August, were handed over to the Georgian authorities, the press service of the KGB of the Republic reports.

The decision was made at the session of the legislature on Thursday. The commission included MPs David Sanakoev, Garry Muldarov, Dzambolat Medoev and Valery Kokoev.

South Ossetia and Russia have close and trusting relations, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev said in an exclusive interview with Russia-24 TV channel.

"Russia has always supported South Ossetia. In August 2008, it practically saved our people from extermination. Since then, we feel and see Russia's support," the President said.

He has noted that more than 120 normative documents have been signed between the two states; relations between South Ossetia are successfully developing and strengthening.

In South Ossetia, it is planned to implement serious projects in the field of industry and tourism within the framework of the Investment Program for Promotion of Social- Economic Development of the Republic, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev said in the exclusive interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"On January 13, the tender will be end and we are starting to implement serious programs, including the agro-industrial complex, the tourist and recreational complex, and the industrial complex as a separate line," the President said.

Residents of South Ossetia are fighting in the special operation in Ukraine with a sense of duty. This was stated by President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev in an exclusive interview to the Russia-24 channel.

"South Ossetia was the first to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk Republics. Since 2014, our guys, together with their brothers from different regions of Russia, have been defending peace in the Donbass republics. Since the beginning of the special operation, the number of its participants from our Republic has only increased," the President said.

A meeting between President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak took place in Moscow, the press service of President of South Ossetia reports.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Andrey Tskhovrebov was given the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic.

"The diplomatic rank was assigned to Tskhovrebov by the decree of President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev," the report says.

This is the highest-class rank, which is awarded to officials in the Foreign Ministry system.

A cooperation agreement was signed between the capitals of South Ossetia and the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic on Monday. The agreement on establishing sister city relations between the two cities was signed by the mayor of Tskhinval Geno Kadzhaev and the head of the municipality of Cherkessk Valery Deduk.

As noted by Deduk, a long and thorough work has been done on the agreement and expressed hope for fruitful work.
