Alan Pliev: «Meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Georgia will not be effective»

On the eve of meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Georgia at the economical forum in Sanct Petersburg the correspondent of IA «Res» turned for the commentary to the Republic of South Ossetia deputy Foreign Minister Alan Pliev. According to him «Russo-Georgian relations, already tense for several years, has aggravated last time. Mikhail Saakashvili characterized the situation as a deep crisis».
«The initiator of deterioration of relations is Georgia, who is very nervous about the cooperation of Russia with South Ossetia and Abkhazia in the economic and other spheres as well as the establishment of direct relations between various institutions. There were sounded threats of use of force towards Russia. Saakashvili himself made some negative statements»-said Pliev.
«The assumed meeting of Russian and Georgian Presidents in Sanct Petersburg will not be effective on this backdrop. In South Ossetia of course interested in the normalization of relations between Russia and Georgia what will be influential for the negotiation process and for the stability in general. But the practical realization of any questions is impossible without South Ossetia’s participation and counting of our interests»-emphasized the deputy of the Minister.
