On the border of South Ossetia with Georgia, since the previous meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms, no violations have been recorded by the Georgian police and the European Union Observer Mission, the head of the South Ossetian delegation at the meetings within the IPRM, Egor Kochiev, told reporters.
He has noted that the past period was quite calm - there were a minimum of violations of the state border, as well as the detentions.
“In total, three detentions of citizens were recorded, two of them were expelled, one with a fine. A criminal case has been opened against the third defendant and an investigation is underway. At the meeting, I noted that perhaps this was an accident, but with the arrival of the new head of the mission, Patricia Bugani, violations by the mission’s patrol of our borders stopped,” Kochiev said.
According to him, only one UAV flight has been confirmed, but the Georgian party denies this.
Kochiev has noted that serious work is underway to provide land plots with irrigation water through irrigation canals.
“At the moment, water flows non-stop into the Tsinagar zone and through the Artsev Canal,” he said.
As noted by Egor Kochiev, the issue of removing the illegal Georgian police post in the village of Uista from the territory of the Republic was also discussed.
“I want to assure everyone that the work on this issue is ongoing and will ultimately end with this post being removed,” he said.
