The Embassy of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation will hold memorial events dedicated to the next anniversary of the war 08.08.08.

This year marks 16 years since the tragic events in South Ossetia as a result of the Georgian military aggression.

As reported by the diplomatic mission, on August 7 at 19:00 the national flag of the Republic will be lowered on the territory of the Embassy.

On August 8 at 11:00 in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow (Lower Temple) a memorial service will be held for the fallen civilians of South Ossetia, the defenders of Tskhinval, Ossetian and Russian servicemen of the Peacekeeping Forces, soldiers and officers of the Russian army who defended the Republic from physical destruction at the cost of their lives,” the diplomatic mission reported.

Those wishing to express solidarity with the people of South Ossetia and share the pain of the Ossetian pain for the dead can take part in the  memorial event at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on August 8, 2024 at 11:00, the Embassy has concluded.
