The delegation of South Ossetia, headed by President Alan Gagloev, took part in the memorial events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Beslan tragedy. This was reported by the press service of the head of the Republic.
Wreaths and flowers were laid at the "Tree of Sorrow" monument at the "City of Angels" memorial cemetery by President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Sergey Menyailo, other officials, as well as thousands of people who gathered to honor the bright memory of the victims of the terrorist attack.⠀
The names and surnames of those killed in the monstrous tragedy were read out to the sounds of a metronome, after which 334 white balloons were released into the sky, corresponding to the number of those killed in the terrorist attack.⠀
Alan Gagloev and Sergey Menyailo laid flowers at each grave. They also honored the memory of the fallen fighters of the FSB Special Forces "Alpha" and "Vympel".
