Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev addressed words of greetings to Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Russia Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the recognition of South Ossetia's independence by Venezuela. 15 years ago - on September 10, 2009, Venezuela recognized the independence of South Ossetia following Russia and Nicaragua.
The Embassy has noted that in the history of the people of South Ossetia, the date of September 10, 2009 will forever remain one of the most significant events and a symbol of solidarity and the triumph of justice.
The congratulatory message particularly notes Venezuela's great contribution to the process of international recognition of South Ossetia's independence.
"Based on the good traditions of friendship and mutual respect that have linked our peoples over the past few years, we have been able to bring bilateral relations to a high level of strategic partnership and alliance," the message says.
Best wishes for well-being and words of gratitude for the continued support have also been sent to the Venezuelan diplomatic mission.
