The State Song and Dance Group "Simd" will perform on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia as part of the celebration of the Days of Ossetia in Moscow. As reported by Minister of Culture of South Ossetia Rada Dzagoeva at the press conference, the events will be dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Ossetia's accession to Russia.

According to her, three anniversaries will be celebrated in Moscow: the 250th anniversary of Ossetia's accession to Russia, the 165th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Ossetian literary language Kosta Khetagurov, and the 100th anniversary of the North Ossetian autonomy.

"This is the case when Ossetia cannot be divided into north and south. Kosta is a genius of the entire Ossetian people, so it is a great honor for our group and for all our creative people to take part in these large-scale events. A large-scale concert on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater will take place on October 15, on Kosta Khetagurov's birthday," Dzagoeva said.

She has added that the group’s trip will take place with the assistance of the President of the Republic.

Dzagoeva has noted that the Simd also had a successful tour this year, the group presented seven solo concerts.

"In 2024, Simd performed a solo concert at the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, it was a great success. As part of the all-Russian project "We are Russia", at the beginning of the summer, a tour of the republics of the North Caucasus took place, our group performed in three cities of Dagestan: Kaspiysk, Makhachkala and Derbent. In addition, Simd performed in Grozny, and in Yessentuki,” Dzagoeva said.

She has added that Simd had a concert planned for the end of September as part of the Days of the South Ossetian Culture in Crimea, but due to the death of the People's Artist of the Republic Inal Bichenov, the concert had to be postponed until the spring of 2025.

“Unfortunately, we have lost one of the foundations of our state group- Inal Bichenov, so it is very difficult for the team to come to terms with this loss, and secondly, the entire repertoire of the team was tied to this person. Therefore, we were forced to apologize to our colleagues from Crimea and postpone the dates of the Days of the South Ossetian Culture in Crimea to the spring of next year,” she has concluded.
