The recognition of the sovereignty of South Ossetia proceeds from the principled policy of Syria, which is based on respect for the will of the people, self-determination and categorical rejection of any foreign interference in the internal affairs of the state. This was stated by Ambassador of the SAR to Russia Bashar Jafari, speaking in Tskhinval at the celebration of the Day of the Republic of South Ossetia.
"These principles have been and remain the compass guiding Syria's foreign policy and defining neo-political and strategic guidelines," Jafari said. - We are deeply convinced of their correctness and justice, since they form the basis of the principles of international law and serve as a support for building a stable prosperous world where cultural diversity is preserved, hegemony and uni-polarity are rejected, and society is built on the principles of multi-polarity, democracy and international legitimacy."
Bashar Jafari expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Republic for the invitation to visit South Ossetia and take part in the festive events.
