The Committee on Youth Policy and Sports of South Ossetia and the Lugansk branch of the All-Russian public organization of physical culture and sports society of trade unions "Russia" signed a cooperation agreement.
The document was signed by Chairman of the Committee Soslan Gassiev and Chairman of the regional branch of the all-Russian organization Dmitry Vereshchaga.
As emphasized by Vereshchaga, this agreement will not be formal, but will lead to real actions.
"The agreement will give the South Ossetian athletes the opportunity to compete in regional, all-Russian and international competitions. We already have plans to invite the South Ossetian athletes to sporting events in the near future," Vereshchaga said.
He thanked President of the Republic Alan Gagloev and the head of the Fund for Support of the Wounded Madina Plieva for the invitation, and on behalf of the President of the Sports Society "Russia" Yuri Ansimov, he wished peace, happiness and prosperity to the South Ossetian land and people.
Soslan Gassiev called the agreement important and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation.
"We have developed fraternal relations with the Lugansk People's Republic, we have a lot in common, and I am doubly pleased to sign this agreement with Dmitry Alexandrovich. The agreement in the field of sports and physical culture directly applies to our youth, to those on whom the future of our Republic depends. Therefore, we sincerely hope for fruitful cooperation and the development of sports in our republics," Gassiev has emphasized.
