The South Ossetian freestyle wrestler Alan Zasseev won the gold medal at the World Championships held in Croatia.
Zasseev have risen to the top step of the podium in the 88 kg weight class.
On the way to the final, the athlete had three fights with the wrestlers from Turkey, the USA and Japan. In the final, he was stronger than the wrestler from Lithuania.
The wrestler shared his first impressions after the victory with the "Res" news agency, and noted that he had achieved what he had been striving for for a very long time.
"I have just left the ring, I am still in some kind of euphoria. I have very mixed emotions. I have achieved what I have been striving for for a long time and I am very happy about it," Zasseev said.
The athlete expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him.

Alan Zasseev is a Master of Sports of Russia, a winner of the Russian Junior Championship, bronze medalist of the Russian Championship among carpet masters of division A (2022), a champion of Russia among carpet masters of division A (2023), bronze medalist of the 2023 World Championship, a winner of the Russian Cup of division A (2024), a silver medalist of the Russian Championship (2024), bronze medalist of the BRICS Championship (2024).
Zasseev is trained by Tamerlan Kochiev, Azamat Kabisov and Marat Gagiev.
