The Foundation for the Support of Those Wounded and Disabled During Hostilities in South Ossetia (1999–2008) has delivered another cargo of humanitarian aid to the Donbas region, Madina Plieva, head of the Foundation, told the "Res" news agency.

According to her, the aid has included essential items, water, apples, food supplies, and much more.

She has noted that this charitable initiative was made possible thanks to the support of the head of state, Marat Kambolov.

"We received tremendous support in gathering this aid from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Customs Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Oil Depot, the 'Yuzhny Sad' (Southern Garden) enterprise, and the concerned citizens of the Republic.

Furthermore, we brought along parcels for participants in the special military operation, which their relatives had asked us to deliver," Plieva said.

She has mentioned that representatives from the Foundation were met at the border in the Rostov region.

However, due to the tense situation, they were unable to proceed to the final destination.

Plieva has emphasized that Azamat Tibilov—a veteran of combat operations and a participant in the special military operation—provided significant assistance in delivering the cargo.

"He immediately contacted the guys from South Ossetia, who arrived promptly and unloaded the supplies. A part of the aid will be sent to hospitals for the wounded," she has noted.

The head of the Foundation added that while the fighters from South Ossetia had hoped to meet with their fellow countrymen, but due to the tense situation many of them were unable to come to the place. "In the past, we endured great losses while defending the independence of our Republic; we were subjected to a humanitarian and economic blockade, but we are strong and we persevered—thanks in part to the support of Russia.

That is why, when the need arose to avert a threat to the sovereignty and security of the Russian Federation, our guys did not hesitate to head to the Donbas—as early as 2014.

Ever since, alongside the Russian service members, they have been defending the population of the DPR, the LPR, and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions," Plieva has emphasized.

The Foundation for supporting the wounded will continue to assist those taking part in the special military operation, she has concluded.

Almost every year, the Foundation sends essential supplies to the special military operation zone.

Previously, on the initiative of the Foundation, monuments to the fallen heroes of the DPR and LPR were erected in Luhansk and Donetsk—donated by the veterans disabled in the wars for the freedom and independence of South Ossetia (1989–2008).
