Boris Chochiev: “Kosovo has nothing in common with South Ossetia”

On commenting the statement of Slovenia Foreign Minister Dmitry Rupel (“There is no liaison between Kosovo, Abkhazia and South Ossetia”) the Deputy Prime Minister of RSO who is also the Head of South Ossetian part of Joint Control Commission on Georgian-Ossetian conflict settlement Boris Chochiev made a statement: “Indeed Kosovo has nothing in common with South Ossetia neither from political nor legal point of view.

The sitting of RSO Security Council

Today the sitting of the Security Council of RSO took place. President Eduard Kokoity opened the sitting. The sitting was participated by the Speaker of Parliament Znaur Gassiev as well as the range of heads of ministries and departments. The participants discussed measures on legality observing and struggle with corruption in the Republic. Acting attorney-general of RSO Eldar Kokoev acted as a main reporter. He suggested elaborating and submitting a law of corruption which would allow straggling with this negative occurrence more thoroughly and in complex.

A photo-exhibition “Woman face of South Ossetia” is held In Tskhinval

In Tskhinval–the capital of the Republic of South Ossetia a photo-exhibition “Woman face of South Ossetia” is held. The exhibition is organized by a Non-government organization “Journalists for human rights” supported by Ministry of Culture of RSO. The exhibition is the final event of the same name project, in 2007 a round table on gender problems was held and a brochure “Let’s think how to help!?” was also issued in the framework of this project.

Lawlessness of kurta administration

An inhabitant of v. Tamarasheni who asked not to mention his name told about the incident happened in the end of 2007 in the residence of Tbilisi protégé, head of marionette regime D. Sanakoev. On 26 December a cluster of Kheiti villagers came up to the residence intending to address to D. Sanakoev with a request to compromise to RSO Government and if only temporarily reopen the road to Tskhinval.

President of RSO Eduard Kokoity awarded journalists

President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity awarded the best journalists of 2007 with diplomas and monetary prizes. The awards were presented on 2 February. Correspondents of “Res” Information Agency were also among laureates. The awards were presented to them in nomination of “On-line information”.

The most probable version

The situation with water supply to Tskhinval (the capital of RSO) becomes worse day by day. And the most curios thing is that the cause of the crisis has not found yet. Numerous monitoring were held with participation of peacekeepers and OSCE observers. The experts from Ossetian and Georgian sides examine the water pipe. The measures of water in the nearly one meter in diameter pipe are conducting in various places. But the reason is made public only like versions.
