The situation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone has a growing tendency to aggravation. How the Government of the Republic is coping with the ongoing situation told the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity in the interview to IA «Res» correspondent
–I would like to note that the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia is bending every effort to keep the negotiation process of Georgian-Ossetian conflict settlement within the framework of Joint Control Commission. Saakashvili’s regime organizes provocations against the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia and peacekeeping forces. We are making great efforts to hold the situation in check.
As it was supposed on the preliminary results of Parliamentary elections in Georgia the ruling party «United national movement» emerged the victor. IA «Res» correspondent turned to the deputy of the RSO Parliament Chairman Tarzan Kokoity for the commentary. «Despite the passed Parliamentary elections are the internal case of Georgia it would be wrong to consider their results do not impact on Georgian-Ossetian relations. The victory of the ruling party is the evidence of the possibility of military aggression against South Ossetia.

«Mikhail Saakashvili brought to Georgia plain police regime. Jural state is bound by law and power functions are fulfilled within the legal framework. The priority of a police state is an illegal form and under different circumstances already rickety juridical procedures are thrown away. A Parliamentary election in Georgia is another evidence for this.
«Res» correspondent turned to RSO Foreign Minister deputy Alan Pliev for the commentary on the last statements of US senator Richard Lugar «US must head an active international diplomatic counter-offensive against Russia’s efforts on destabilization in Georgia and the whole region. The peaceful settlement of the confrontation will need US leadership and interaction of the rest NATO members».
The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity met the members of delegation which recently been in Brussels and took part in the hearings in Europarliament. The delegation consisted of the Leader of Patriotic Youth Union «IR» of RSO Alexey Sanakoev, an English language teacher Tamara Terashvili and the deputy of the Youth Parliament of RSO) Alena Gagloeva. In the beginning of the meeting Eduard Kokoity thanked the young people for their fruitful work. «Your speeches draw attention both the officials and leading international mass media. You impressed the fraction deputies. We have already received invitations from the other Europarliament fractions to take a floor and they also asked us to permit them to visit RSO»-underlined the President.
Today, on 19 May RSO Government held a meeting devoted to conducting of measures on nation-wide mourning day. The sitting was held by the President State adviser Zhanna Zasseeva.
«20 May 11:11 – Nation-wide silence minute. Ceremonial measures will start at 10:00 with placing of flowers and candles at the memorial of Georgian aggression in the school № 5 yard. Then after mothers and relatives of the decedents together with the Government and Parliament representatives, representatives of public and youth organizations will set off to Zar village to hold a mourning meeting at the innocent victims monument»-said Zhanna Zasseeva.
Today the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity held a meeting with the Heads of Ministries and departments. The questions of internal policy and realization of main State administrative and economic projects have been discussed. During the conference the President focused on the Government’s work on control for accepted decisions and implementation of the President’s instructions.
The President of the Republic of South Ossetia met with the Heads of RSO power structures, political parties and mass media. In the course of the meeting developed over Republic situation has been discussed. «Georgian side chose another form of aggression against our State. All this is connected with the perspectives to be realized at the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia»-said the president.
«Georgian special services in near future are going to commit a terrorist act at the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia against Georgian citizens and peacekeepers»-stated the President of RSO Eduard Kokoity.
