The death of the President of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh – is bereavement, both for Abkhazia, and for South Ossetia. It has been declared by the President of the RSO Eduard Kokoity. The President of Abkhazia was a great friend of the Republic of South Ossetia. In his person we have lost not simply the ally - for me Sergey Vasilievich Bagapsh was more than a friend", - has said the head of the state.

In connection with death of the President of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh, all the festive actions, planned for the 19-th anniversary of the Act of declaration of independence of South Ossetia, are cancelled. This has been reported IA "Res» at the press-service of the President and the Government of the RSO."Today only the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the memorable for the Republic event – adopting the Act of declaration of independence- will take place in Tskhinval.
